Hornsby Shire is by total area the largest local government council in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan region.

Hornsby Shire Council operates a code which supports community groups in the Shire through making Council owned land and buildings available.

As a not-for-profit association our Shed is one of the community groups supported by Hornsby Shire Council through the lease of a Council owned building.

A designated section of one of Council’s buildings at its Works Depot at Thornleigh has been home to our Shed since November 2010.

This is the place where our Shed has provided useful and meaningful activities to older members of the Hornsby community in pursuit of our objective of producing positive outcomes in mental health and the relief of social isolation.

The Hornsby Woodworking Men’s Shed is a non-profit association and is extremely grateful to Hornsby Shire Council for its support.
